With the Mobile World Congress just around the corner I figured I'd throw up a wee post with predictions for what will be announced:
- Samsung Galaxy S III: This is pretty much a definite, with the latest version of the Galaxy S line being rumoured for months. Expect up-to-date android (ICS), better battery, NFC and a contender for best phone of 2012. EDIT: Apparently the launch of this has been postponed until around July.
- Sleuth of HTC phones: Unfortunately HTC have released so many phones in the past year it's difficult to know what's what! The head of the company did release a statement recently indicating that this will not be the case this year, where they will stick to creating the best phone in each category (budget, mid-range, top-range). To be honest, I can't see that happening yet though, expect at least 3-4 previewed next week!
- Dual core, quad core, hex core?! Phones and tablets are getting more and more powerful cramming an increasing number of cores into the product. This gives it higher processing power, better graphics and hopefully better battery efficiency!
- New 'slimmest' phone: Each phone released is the next 'slimmest' phone in the World, expect to see at least 2 claiming that throne next week.
- 'HD' resolutions: Phone and Tablet screens have come a long way in 10 years..imagine going from no-colour at all to a phone that has a better display than your tv?
- Samsung tab 2: Ok, technically not a prediction as it has already been announced, but this will be available for a good ole play with. Pretty much the same spec as the Tab10.1 but a smaller device!
- LG 3D Max: Another one that has just been announced but not trialled. Biggest feature is turning 2D pics and videos into 3D retrospectively..will see how it works when put to the test!
- iphone 5 or ipad 3: Apple usually reserves these for a big event of their own. Rumours are currently thinking on June time but you might see some new Apple-goodness earlier than that!
